NEW YORK – June 1, 2011 - Vitech Systems Group, Inc., a leading provider of health claims administration software, announced today that the Carpenter Funds Administrative Office of Northern California Inc. (CFAO) has successfully used Vitech's V3 software to implement Anthem Blue Cross's BlueExchange framework. The V3 software is now being used by CFAO to facilitate the electronic exchange of detailed claims information, thus streamlining CFAO's customer service and adjudication operations.
Vitech worked in partnership with CFAO to use the V3 System as means for implementing extensive advancements to related HIPAA interfaces and claim calculations. This has allowed plan providers access to members’ claims history directly through Anthem Blue Cross's portal. This in turn allows physicians to make more informed decisions when treating patients and promotes educated, open discussions between physicians and patients, with the goal of ensuring that the best possible treatment is administered.
Beginning in mid-June, CFAO is expecting a substantial reduction in customer service inquiries as a direct result of the implementation. “By deploying this new V3 enabled solution, our claims related inbound call volume is expected to decrease by almost 30%." said Pauline Hann. "This is a very exciting prospect for the Fund.
